Bath Haverling track team gains another victory WELLSVILLE - Another invitational, another victory for the Bath Haverling track and field team on May 17. This time, Bath's boys and girls squads combined for an overall team title Saturday at Wellsville Spring Day. Bath also finished first among all boys teams, while the Rams were third in the girls competition. Once again, junior Andre McCloud led the way with three individual first-place finishes, which helped him earn MVP honors. McCloud set a pair of invitational records by placing first in the 200 meters (21.7 seconds) and 100 meters (10.6). McCloud also won the long jump with a distance of 19-feet, 10-inches. Bath's Darren Snyder took first in the pole vault, clearing 12-feet, 3-inches, while teammate Sean Ainsworth won the 1,600 meters in 4:38. Derek Snyder, Darren Snyder, Sam Armstrong and Nick Badeau took first in the 3,200 relay in 8:59. Campbell-Savona finished fifth, led by Ryan Thompson's win in the high jump (6-0). The Panthers' Roy Holmes added a win in the triple jump (41-5) and a second place in the long jump (18-9). Jared Allen added a school record in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:01.0. On the girls side, Lakeshia McCloud set an invitational record with a first-place mark of 35-feet, 10-inches in the triple jump. McCloud also won the long jump, going 15-feet, 10- inches. Lakeshia McCloud also helped Bath to two second place relay finishes. McCloud, Brittany Havens, Ashley Russell and Emily Johns placed second in the 1,600 relay (4:18.2), while McCloud, Havens, Brittani Jones and Megan Russell were second in the 400 relay (52.5). Ashley Russell, Havens, Ireland Armstrong and Johns helped Bath take second in the shuttle hurdle relay (1:08.4). Bath's Alyssa Duby was third in the pentathlon with 2,185 points. Teammate Megan Russell set a school record in the 100 hurdles, where she placed sixth in 16.64 seconds. Campbell-Savona's Sierra White earned second place in the high with a jump of 4- 10 to help the Panthers place 16th overall. Mishaya Tuttle set a new school record in the 400 meters with a time of 1:04.6. The Rams' boys team got second-place finishes from Derek Snyder in the 1,600 meters (4:41), Sean Ainsworth in the 800 meters (2:06.9), Andre McCloud in the triple jump (40-feet, 9- inches) and the 1,600 relay team of Brian Vonderlin, Kirt Martin,Ryan Hamilton, Franklin Koehler (3:42). Picking up th ird-place finishes for the Bath boys were Jordan Nichols (200, 23.3), Ryan Vonderlin (400, 53.2), Tyree McCloud (pentathlon, 2,424), Jamie House (shot put, 41-9) and the 400 relay team of Martin, Vonderlin, Nichols and Ryan Ainsworth (45.7). "The kids did a great job," Bath coach Mike Clancy said. "We've had two team titles in each of the last two weeks, so we're pretty happy." |
