BATH - A small but lively group of participants raised more than $1100 last month at the 11th annual Strides for Strays fundraiser for the Finger Lakes SPCA.
The biggest fundraising team also included the largest dog in the parade - Riley the Great Dane and his guardian Wendy Hall. Of the 16 dogs who participated, four were current shelter residents sporting "I'm adoptable" coats.
Following the one-mile walk, the Strut Your Mutt Dog Show began. Besides obvious categories such as Best Bark or Best Wag, there was also Human/Dog Look-alike and Longest Tongue. Every dog went home with at least one ribbon, and the appreciation of the Fingerlakes SPCA for their participation.
