The McClouds shatter records at LCAA meet

CAEDONIA - The Bath Haverling track and field teams set three new school records, one Livingston County Athletic Association mark and a new Section V record on Friday, May 23, in the league championships.

Andre McCloud's long jump of 23-feet-11-inches is a new high for Haverling, the LCAA and Section IV, while Emily Johnson broke a school record in the high jump (5-feet-3-inches) and Lakeshia McCloud is the new Haverling record holder in the triple jump at 37-feet- 8.5-inches.

"It was a good day for both the girls and the boys. It's a good chance for the kids to give their best performances of the year, and they did," said Bath coach Matt Hill.

Overall, Andre McCloud won three events (100, 200- meter dashes and the long jump), while Lakeshia McCloud took first in the triple and long jumps. Johns won the high jump; the boys 400-meter relay team of Andre McCloud, Jordan Nichols, Kirt Martin and Brian Vonderlin took first place; and the girls 1,600- meter relay team of Brittany Havens, Ashley Russell, Johns and Lakeshia McCloud were winners.

Sean Ainsworth took second in the 800-meter run with his personal-best time of the year and Darren Snyder was second in the pole vault by three inches. Brittany Jones, Havens, Russell and McCloud were second in the 400-meter relay.
