Carlie Brown named Steuben County Dairy Princess

HAMMONDSPORT - Carlie Brown of Hammondsport was recently named the Steuben County Dairy Princess.
She is the 18-year-old daughter of Bill and Cindy Brown. The family owns Stone Rise Dairy, which is home to a 60 cow registered Holstein herd.
Brown just finished her first year at Cornell University, majoring in Animal Science. She is a member of the Cornell University Dairy Science Club, Collegiate 4-H, and is a Cornell Tradition Fellow. She is also a member of the Cornell Women's Club Basketball Team and is a member of the Cornell Intramural Sports program. Carlie is a member of the Allegany Steuben Jr. Holstein Club, and has been involved in 4-H for a number of years. Carlie owns several Holstein dairy cows and enjoys showing at the county and regional level.
Separately, Kate Brown, also of Hammondsport, will serve as the Steuben County first Alternate Dairy Princess, and Casey Brooks, a student at Dundee High School, will serve as the Steuben County second Alternate Dairy Princess.
Brown is the daughter of Bill and Cindy Brown. She is a freshman at Hammondsport Central School, where she is active in soccer, band, and basketball and softball stats. Outside of school she is a member of the Allegany Steuben Jr. Holstein Club and 4-H. She has been a member of the Steuben County Dairy Princess Program for three years and owns several dairy cows, working on the family farm.
Brooks is the daughter of Larry and Deb Brooks of Altay. The family runs a 70 cow dairy farm, and she is a sophomore at Dundee Central School where she is a highhonor roll student and a member of National Honor Society. She is active in softball, soccer, basketball, and student government. She has been in 4-H for several years and participates in many church activities.
Brown succeeds Amy Quanz of Wayland as the Steuben County Dairy Princess.
