Ethel L. Crans

CAMPBELL - Ethel L. Crans age 82, of Campbell, died Tuesday, June 3, at Founders Pavilion in Corning.

She was born in the DeMonstoy log cabin in Campbell on October 15, 1925 to Ray and Eva (DeMonstoy) Cleveland. She shared 54 years of marriage to Charles Crans, who predeceased her on June 16, 1995.

Ethel is survived by her children, David (Marylouise) Crans and Bonnie (George Jr.) Conaway of Campbell and Daniel (Anne) Crans of Port St . Lucie, Florida; grandchildren, Chad (Dawn) Crans of Loris, South Carolina, Audra (Bryan) Henderson of Olympia, Washington, Bradley (Tonya) Conaway of Pine City, Kelly (Wesley Bryant) Conaway of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; step grandchildren, Stephen Pym and Sara Pym of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Toni Henderson of Puyallup, Washington; great granddaughter, Kaylyn Conaway of Pine City; several brothers-in-law, sisters-inlaw, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her many "helping hands" and friends at Guardian Founders Pavilion in Corning.

Ethel was predeceased by her brother Emery Cleveland on August 25, 1995.

Ethel was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was first and foremost, always. She and her husband, Charlie, enjoyed camping with the Jolly Campers Club based out of Bath. Many summers were spent on Starkey Point, Seneca Lake camping with many long time friends. They also traveled to Florida and South Carolina during winter and spring. Ethel was a cub scout den mother. She had a love of cooking and baking for her family. She and her husband also shared a love for country music and "cutting the rug" in the living room to a favorite tune. Everyone will miss her great sense of humor and her contagious laughter.

Calling hours were Monday, June 9 from 1-3 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Inc., 17 W. Pulteney Street in Corning. Private Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Campbell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Ethel's name to the building fund for Guardian/Founders Pavilion, 205 E. First Street, Corning, NY 14830.
