Two Bath men face felony charges BATH - A 10-year-old Bath girl has her allterrain vehicle back and two local men are facing felony charges after an incident last month in the village of Bath. Michael Woodruff, 19, of 22 W. Steuben St., Apt. 20; and Robert M. Farr, 19, of 5735 Thomas Road, were each charged recent ly with one count of fourth-degree grand larceny and one count of petit larceny. Bath Village Police Sgt. Andrew DuBois said the pair allegedly took a go-cart and an ATV during the early hours of May 11 from a residence on West Steuben Street. The go-cart was located the next day under the Cameron Street bridge, DuBois said. DuBois and the victim's father, Jim Costley, then followed ATV tracks from the bridge heading west, but could not locate the larger machine, he said. "(The girl) was really upset, of course," DuBois said. "Her dad said he helped her buy it off of eBay, it was the first time she'd done that. She'd only had it a couple of days." DuBois later followed a tip from another relative of the child that the vehicle had been seen on the railroad tracks, and located the ATV on State Route 415. DuBois was assisted in the investigation by village Police Officer Steve Hawken. The child's mother said the two men must have looked a little silly on a child-sized ATV. "I hope they're ashamed of themselves," said Angela Cosley. "They made a 10-year-old girl cry." If convicted, each man faces up to four years in prison and/ or fines up to $5,000. |
