Carolyn A. Pierce

CONESUS/ AVOCA - Carolyn A. Pierce, 59, of 159 E. Lake Road, Conesus (formerly of Avoca), passed away early Thursday morning, June 12, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville after an illness.

Born in Bath on Oct. 8, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Edwin "Bum" and Elsie "Pat" Meyers Armstrong. She was married in Avoca to James F. Pierce, who predeceased her on July 9, 2005. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her step-mother, Elizabeth Pierce Armstrong, her brother, Joseph Armstrong and her sister, Joanie Armstrong.

A former resident of Avoca, Carolyn has resided in Conesus since 1972.

She was employed as a secretary for Lewis Tree Service in Rochester.

Her family includes her sister, Gail Weber of Conesus; her four brothers-in-law, Ernest Pierce of Laurel, Maryland, Gordon (Dorene) Pierce of Appomattax, Virginia, Andrew (Elaine) Pierce of Lacona and Jon (Deborah) Pierce of Almond; also her 13 nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca where a funeral and committal service followed calling hours at 3 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Marion Luce officiating. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery, Avoca.
