McCloud wins federation title

BUFFALO - Lakeshia McCloud was also giving her school new highs.

On Saturday, June 14, Lakeshia McCloud, a senior at Bath Haverling, won the triple jump in federation competition at the University of Buffalo for the first time in Haverling history - male or female.

"She's the first one there getting ready to warm up, always prepared and loves the challenge," said Bath coach Mike Clancey. "It's just fantastic. If you had to pick one kid that deserves it, you'd pick her. It seems fitting to finish her senior year that way."

The Robert Morris-bound athlete also finished third in the long jump with a leap of 17-7, while her brother Andre McCloud finished second in both the 100 and 200-meter runs. Andre McCloud didn't get a chance to face off against Johnson in the leaping events as he was held out of the events with a sore knee. The 3,200-meter team of Sean Ainsworth, Derek Snyder, Ni ck Badeau, Garrison Koehler finished sixth.
