I-86 accident injures one CAMPBELL - One driver was injured in a four-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning, June 25, on Interstate Highway 86 near the Coopers Plains exit. Paul Hedberg, 58, of Jamestown, Chautauqua County, was flown to Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira with head and leg injuries. Steuben County Sheriff's deputies report he was involved in a pile-up shortly before 1 a.m. The accident started when a tractor-trailer driver, Noel Bollozos, 46, of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, failed to see a line of vehicles stopped in the roadway for another tractor-trailer that had rolled over. Bollozos's truck then struck Hedberg's car, which then hit a car driven by Doug MacCormack, 81, of Carlisle, Ontario, Canada. A fourth car, driven by Mark Ludzack, 28, of Yuma, Arizona, was damaged by flying debris. No other injuries were reported. Charges are pending against Bollozos. The sheriff's Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating. State police, Rural/Metro Ambulance Service, Crane's Towing and firefighters from Campbell, Coopers Plains and Savona responded. |
