Bath Haverling baseball team celebrates great season

The Haverling Baseball teams celebrated their seasons in the High School Cafeteria on June 18th. At the dinner the Varsity Baseball team was honored for winning the Livingston County Athletic Association Division I Championship, the Section V Class B Championship, the Number 1 Seed in the Sectional Tournament, achieving the New York State Scholar Athlete Team award, and advancing to the quarterfinals of the state tournament for the first time in school history.

Individual awards (as voted upon by their teammates) went to Sean Lyke as Rookie of the Year; Montana Yastremski as Most Improved Player, and Matt Whedbee for the Mr. Hustle Award. Mike Rossi and Brett Havens were voted by their teammates for the Rams' Most Valuable Player award and announced as the Livingston County Co- MVP's for their outstanding seasons.

The team batted .369 for the year, collecting 290 runs while allowing only 143 in winning twenty-three games and losing only five.

The championship sectional team included Sophomores, Lucas Burns, Nick Hillman, Ken Robare, Drew Seager, Brett Sutryk, and Kiele Wilson: Juniors, Dustin Brown, Billy Crowe, Chris Leonard, Sean Lyke, Mike Rossi, Mike Smith, Karl VanAmburg, Matt Whedbee, and Montana Yastremski; Seniors, Eric Argentieri, Justin Brown, Bryce Cody, Brett Havens, and Brad York. Head Coach is Bob Buckley assisted by Rich Rohrbach.
