McCann, Nichols lead TRTC in final meet CANISTEO - Zach McCann ran on two winning relays and placed third in the 15 and 16 boys high jump while Jordan Nichols won the 17 to 34 men's 100 and also ran on one of the winning relays with McCann to lead the Twin Rivers Track Club in its final regular season meet at Canisteo. McCann and Nichols later teamed up with Kurt Zeltwanger and Brian Vonderlin to win the 17 to 34 age division sprint medley meter relay. McCann also teamed up with Becky Turner, Shane Barney and Mike Coughlin to win the 400 relay in the 17 to 34 group. Also competing in the 17 to 34 group Brett Rosko won the 3000 meter run and ran with Joel Rosko, Darnell Barron and Jachob Brockway to finish second in the 400 meter relay. In the 8 and under division John Lyons placed first in the 400 meter run and third in the 200 meter sprint. In the 9 and 10 girls division Sarah Vonderchek was a winner in the 50 meter spring and finished third in the 100 spring. Megan Jessup finished second in the 50 sprint and finished third in the long jump. On the boys side Matt Jessup also finished second in the 50 sprint and third in the long jump. In the 11 and 12 division Brenna Lyons placed first in the 3000 meter run and fourth in the 50 sprint. Emily Hynes finished second in the 3000 meter run. Lyons also teamed up with Rachel McMahon, Sidney Mc- Donough and Cara Kress to win the 400 meter relay. In the 13 and 14 age division Zach Barney won the high jump with a personal best 5'2". Jachob Brockway was a winner in the 100 meter sprint and Joel Rosko finished second in the high jump. In the 15 and 16 division for girls Carey Crooker took a first place in the 3000 meter run and Alyssa Rook finished first in the shot put. On the boys side Brian Vonderlin was a winner in the 100 and 400 sprints and placed second in the shot put. Ryan Ainsworth was a winner in the high jump and took a second place finish in the 100 sprint. Sean Ainsworth won the 3000 meter run and Sam Armstrong finished right behind in second for the 3000. In the 35 to 49 division Regena Rosko threw to a second place finish in the shot put and in the 50 and up division Kevin Rosko threw for second place in the shot put and teamed up with Sarah Vondercheck, Emily Jessup and Matt Jessup to finish first in the 400 meter relay. The club will compete Saturday at the S.T.T.A. Summer Championship Meet in Canisteo for its final competition. After that four will represent the TRTC at the Empire State Games in Binghamton. Sierra White will participate in the scholastic division girls high jump, Brett Rosko will run in the men's open division 10K road race, Regena Rosko will compete in the women's masters division 5K race walk and Kevin Rosko will compete in the men's masters division throwing the hammer and discus, and running in two relays. |
