Gladys J. Bates

BATH - Gladys J. Bates, 78, of 105 Geneva St., formerly of County route 89, passed away Friday, July 25, at the Ira DavenportMemorial Hospital.

She was born March 5, 1930 in the town of Urbana, the daughter of Ray and Zelda Goodwin Perry.

Her husband, Charles A. Bates passed away September 25, 2007. Both she and her husband were both avid flea marketers.

Surviving are her daughters, Charlene (Kyle) Hapeman of Prattsburgh and Nancy Sue (Jerry) Lagley of Interlaken, New York; son, John F. Bates of Elmira; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Friends may attend a graveside service for both Charles and Gladys at 10 a.m. Aug. 8 at the Mitchellsville Cemetery, Rev. Lawrence Slater officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
