4-H Clubs celebrate winners of Steuben County horse shows

BATH - The Steuben County Fair 4-H Horse Show was held on August 11 & 12, 2008.

Thirty-one Steuben County 4-H youth competed in this event which offered English, Western, Driving, Dressage and Gymkhana classes.

Dru Malavase of Bloomfield judged the Dressage division. Jenny Groen of Prattsburgh judged the Showmanship, Trail & Costume divisions. Bill Skellett of Clifton Springs judged the English, Western and Driving classes.

New York State Fair Results for the Exhibits in the Youth Building

Steuben County 4-H was well represented at the recent New York State Fair in Syracuse.

The following members participated in the NYS Clothing Revue: Laura Becker, Amy Fairbrother, Adrienne Kiesl, Jenna Kurtz, Kirsten Schenk, Denise Schubmehl, and Nicole Traphagen.

Lindsey Draper and Sarah Wolcott conducted activities on the Steuben County Booth. Fair goers could choose to make a Garden in a Glove or My Food Pyramid Bead Activity. Brett Rosko was recognized for his GPS display by receiving a "My Wonderful World Recognizes 4-H Community Mapping Pioneers Award of Distinction". Lindsey Draper and Brett Rosko were Teen Evaluators in the Horticulture Department.

A number of 4-H members were selected at the Steuben County Fair to exhibit at the New York State Fair. The following exhibited in posters and 3-dimensional displays: Nicole Wise, Prattsburgh Pioneers.
