Boy Scouts assisting in CROP Walk

Boy Scout Troop 57 will man a water station for the October 19 CROP Hunger Walk again this year. Pictured above are some of the Scouts and leaders who performed this service for the 2007 walkers: Back Row—Assistant Scoutmaster Dan Easterbrook, Kevin Mahnke; Front Row—Troop Committee Chairperson Susan Graham, Tyler Easterbrook, Marshall Rice, Tom Lieb. Scoutmaster Christine Pesesky will have the Scouts in place on October 19 at the Village Information Booth, ready again with water and apples donated by Levi Weaver of Bath. The 2008 CROP Hunger Walk is the 25th such event sponsored by the churches and civic organizations of the area. Nearly $300,000 has been raised locally over the years. This year's goal for the Walk is $12,000. One-fourth of the money raised will go to local food pantries and the Pro-Action Nutrition Program for the Elderly. The rest will help fight hunger and poverty around the world. Anyone wishing information about the Walk may call Peggy Daulton at 776-6458 or Mary Hoffman at 776-4758.
