Man arrested in alleged attack BATH - A 59-year-old Avoca man was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 1, after allegedly striking a co-worker with a ball-peen hammer. Duane J. Morrell, of Cook Road, was charged with seconddegree assault, a class D felony. He was released on his own recognizance. According to state police in Bath, Morrell and 46-year-old Rodney J. Dubois, became involved in a verbal dispute in a parking lot on Longwell Lane in Bath sometime after noon Tuesday. The men are co-workers, state police said. The verbal altercation escalated, and Morrell allegedly struck Dubois in the forehead with a hammer. Dubois was treated at Ira Davenport Hospital for a laceration and contusion to his forehead. |
