CROP Walk set for Oct. 19

BATH — Twenty-three organizations and churches will be represented in the Greater Bath Area CROP HUNGER WALK on Oct 19.

CROP (Communities Responding To Overcome Poverty) has a 61-year history of assisting desperate people to build a better life, both here and abroad.

Locally, this year's Walk marks 25 years of participation. Of the money raised, onefourth will stay in the area, going to help local food pantries and the Pro-Action Nutrition Program for the Elderly.

Participating in the Walk are the following: AAUW Bath Branch, Bath American Legion, Bath Elks Lodge, Bath Kiwanis Club, Bath Peace and Justice Group, Bath Presbyterian Church, Bath Rotary Club, Centenary United Methodist Church in Bath, Church of the Good Shepherd in Savona, Dormann Library, Friends of the Dormann Library, Hammondsport American Legion, Hammondsport Presbyterian Church, Hammondsport United Methodist Church, Haverling Central School, Kanona United Methodist Church, Knights of Columbus, Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church, Pulteney Presbyterian Church, St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church in Hammondsport, St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Bath, St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Bath, Wheeler United Methodist Church.
