Vikings continue run

CAMPBELL - Prattsburgh upped its record to 11-1 on the season with a 3- 0 win over Campbell-Savona Monday, Oct. 6.

The Vikings downed the Panthers 25-20, 25-15 and 25-9.

Prattsburgh was led by 14 service points from Tricia Rivers, who also recorded five aces and two kills. Teammate Andrea Presher tallied 11 points, including six aces, 12 assists and two kills.

Prattsburgh, which is tied with Hammondsport atop the Steuben County Athletic Association standings, now has its sights set on the school's first league title in five seasons.

"We were undefeated in county that year," Prattsburgh head coach Teresa Stockton said. "Since then, we've pretty much been No. 2 to Hammondsport."

Prattsburgh handed the Lakers their only loss of the season on Sept. 12, then Hammondsport returned the favor Sept. 26.

"It's really helped having a modified, feeder team," Stockton said. "That really helps with the experience of the girls. Some of our girls have been playing for five or six years.

"The experience really helps. They really understand the game now."

Morgan Penner chipped in Monday with seven points, with two aces and six kills. Katie Smith had four points and six kills, while teammate Jordan a Schoolcraft finished with six points, four aces and two kills."

"If we both remain with one loss, we will have a playoff," Stockton said. "That's what they've done in the past."
