CORNING | Several local businesses were honored at the Tourism Excellence Awards this week during a ceremony at the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport.

The ceremony was hosted by the Corning and Southern Finger Lakes, a prominent tourism agency in the region.

“The Tourism Excellence Awards are a way to recognize businesses that not only provide exceptional products and services to their customers, but who take an active role in the CVB's programs to develop and sustain a world-class destination,” CVB President Jake Buganski said in a statement.

“Tourism is a complex industry, and engaged stakeholders are critical to growing the region's tourism economy,” he added. “The award winners demonstrated a propensity for embracing industry trends and a spirit of cooperation that enhances the visitor experience.”

The winners were honored for categories such as Craft Beverage Producer, Accommodations, Events, History and Heritage, Dining, Tourism Ambassador, and others.

Winners were selected based on several criteria, such as customer service, visitor experience, innovative marketing, collaboration efforts, and reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor.

n Best Agritourism Partner - Crooked Creek Hops Farm

n Best Dining Partner - The Source at Factory No. 2

n Best History/Heritage Partner - Finger Lakes Boating Museum
