CORNING - The 22nd annual Tree Lighting & Parade of Lights will commence at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, the Gaffer District and Centers Health Care announced.

The ceremony will commence on Sunday instead of Saturday to avoid conflicting with local small businesses, the Gaffer District said.

“The entire Centers Health Care family shares the excitement of our Steuben and Corning Centers, to once again to sponsor these amazing events with the Gaffer District this holiday season,” Centers Health Care CEO Kenny Rozenberg said in a statement. “As we think about our residents and their families at this time of the year, we are reminded once again of just how amazing our residents and employees are, and what an honor we have been given to be the home these wonderful people have chosen.”

The Centerway Square and Bridge Street tree ceremonies will commence simultaneously at 4:30 p.m. this year. A parade will follow immediately after, beginning on Bridge Street near Riverside Drive and turning left onto Market Street, before finishing on Wall Street.

Music and activities are scheduled to begin in Centerway Square at 3 p.m. A Northern Lights Celebration presented by Arbor Development will also begin at 3 p.m. and run until 4:30 p.m. leading up to the ceremonies.
