CORNING - A man who allegedly kicked in the front door of his ex-girlfriend's Woodview Avenue apartment Sunday afternoon to threaten and intimidate her is currently behind bars.

Konrad Russell, 36, of 4627 State Route 414, Beaver Dams, was charged with third-degree menacing, third-degree burglary, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree criminal mischief and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Chief Jeff Spaulding said Russell parked a vehicle outside the woman’s Woodview Avenue residence, and left two children unattended in the vehicle, as he kicked in the door and entered the apartment.

Russell allegedly threatened and intimidated the female who tried to leave the apartment as Russell threatened her,

“She was not physically injured during the (argument),” Spaulding said.

Russell was arraigned in Corning City Court by Judge Mathew K. McCarthy and sent to the Steuben County Jail on $2,000 cash bail. He will reappear in Corning City Court at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 6, to answer to the charges.
