A 47-year-old Urbana man has been arrested forallegedly having sexual contact with a child over a three-year period, Painted Post-based state police said Thursday.
Timothy Mortensen, of Vanamburg Road, is accused of engaging in at least two sexual acts with a child under the age of 13, police said. The alleged incidents occurred from 2006-2009 in the City of Corning, Inv. John LoTemple said.
Police did not release Mortensen’s relationship to the alleged victim, but LoTemple said Mortensen knew the child.
Mortensen is wearing a Hammondsport Fire Department T-shirt in his mugshot, but The Leader was unable to confirm whether the man is a firefighter.
Mortensen was charged with second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a class D felony punishable by up to seven years in state prison. He was released on his own recognizance.
