David Dowdle has been hired as the new agent and producer at the Stork Insurance Agency in the Hammondsport office. A Hammondsport native and graduate of the Hammondsport Central School District, he received degrees in Criminal Justice and Fire Protection Technology from Corning Community College in 1990.
As a New York State certified paramedic he managed Rural/Metro Medical Services for several years then went to work for his family with Allstate Insurance for six years in Corning and the last four years in Bath.
“Coming to Stork Insurance was the right move at the right time,” said Dowdle. “It feels good to be back home.”
Stork Insurance appealed to him because of the personal service, the ability to contact an agent 24/7 and his community service.
“I consider myself a people person,” he said. “I am the first Assistant Chief with the Bath Volunteer Fire Department and I am the head of the training committee that plans and conducts training drill within the department.”
He coaches eight to ten year-old girls in the Bath Cinderella Softball League and is on the Board of Directors and was President of the league for the past six years. Over the past ten years he has coached teams in the T-ball division, Pre-Prep and Prep Divisions as well as several All-Star teams.
His wife, Tami, is co-owner of an Allstate Agency in Corning with her mother, Janet Bauter. The couple have three girls.
