The company that now owns Twinkies said they hope to have the snack cakes back on store shelves this summer, Reuters reported. Apollo Global Management and an equity firm run by Dean Metropoulos made a bid on Hostess Brand Inc.’s snack and won the bid Monday. Daren Metropoulos, son of Dean, told Reuters, "Our family is thrilled to have the opportunity to reestablish these iconic brands with new creative marketing ideas and renewed sales efforts and investment."
