Cameron, N.Y. -

A Cameron woman has been charged with providing alcohol to four underage people who were later involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Jessica A. Okonsky, 31, of Beck Drive, Cameron, was charged with four counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.

Her arrest followed an investigation into a motor vehicle accident Sept. 6 on county Route 22 in the town of Cameron.

According to deputies, Okonsky provided alcohol to the four youths at a Troupsburg location prior to the accident.

She is awaiting an appearance in Troupsburg Town Court.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident, 19-year-old Jacob Canute, also of Beck Drive, Cameron, is facing charges in connection with the Sept. 6 crash and is currently being held in Steuben County Jail.

The investigation is continuing and more charges are possible, according to deputies.

Also, Canute was charged Friday with fourth-degree criminal mischief in connection with an incident in the town of Rathbone in late August.
