Cameron girl charged in school bus fight

A 16-year-old Addison High School student was arrested over the weekend for her role in a recent school bus fight, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office said Monday, Jan. 30.
The student, a girl from Cameron, is accused of striking another person in the back of the head several times while they were riding the bus home from school, deputies said. Authorities did not say what caused the alleged fight.
The alleged fight was first reported to school administrators, who contacted police because of the violent nature of the incident.
The girl was charged with attempted assault and released on an appearance ticket.
The Leader did not release the girl’s identity because of her age.
The Addison Police Department and the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office assisted.
