The Keuka Kampers, a chapter of NCHA/FCRV (formerly National Campers and Hikers but now Family Campers and RV'ers) recently observed their 50th anniversary.
The event was held over a weekend with a campout and a dinner at a local restaurant. Those attending were Bob and Donna Magee, Jim and Joyce Pipe, Harold and Janice Wheeler, Jeff and Pat Winslow, Eldon and Julia Parker, Charlie and JoAnn Betty, Clay and Rosemary Ovenshire, Kp and Gail Wenban, Howard and Carolyn Heckman, Ann and Larry Smith, Bud and Jo McCarthy, Jim and Mary ellen Winslow, Julie Stratton, GT Ritter and Ernie and Donna Neild.
A special presentation was made to Janice Wheeler; she had been president for the past 20 years and brought about many fun changes.
Last month the club camped at Angelica, NY where Cody Rowe, one of their members, was the recipient of the Finger Lakes District Scholarship program.
Cody is the grandson of Howard and Carolyn Heckman of Jasper.
He is pursuing a career in the medical field and is very active in the Bath Ambulance Corp and is a member of the Jasper Corp.
The Keuka Kampers have been active in donating to several charitable organizations over the years and continue to promote camping, conservation and safety.
The national organization is promoting free membership for the first year and anyone interested may call 607-566-8564.
