State Police in Painted Post have charged two men with burglarizing a Thurston business in October.
Police say Christopher Sommer, 29, of 8 Manning St., Savona, and Justin Perry, 24, of 9862 Old State Road, Bradford, broke into Swift’s Tree Farm on Waters Road on Oct. 6 and stole an ATV, shotgun, chainsaws, deer mounts and tools.
Perry allegedly admitted to scrapping the ATV and burning the deer mounts.
The shotgun, a chainsaw and some tools were recovered, police said. Both men were charged with third-degree burglary. Perry was also charged with tampering with physical evidence.
Sommer, who was on felony probation for a previous burglary, was sent to Steuben County Jail.
Perry was issued appearance tickets.
