Two local men have been arrested for stealing hundreds of gallons of fuel from municipal storage tanks and vehicles, New York State Police in Painted Post said Wednesday.
Danny Mattison, 32, of Hornby Road, Beaver Dams, and Jared Mendez, 27, of Parker Road, Campbell, were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony. They were issued appearance tickets.
According to troopers, the pair stole hundreds of gallons of fuel from storage tanks and vehicles at the high departments in Campbell, Bradford and Hornby, and at the Hornby Volunteer Fire Department. Additionally, they allegedly stole fuel from privately owned construction vehicles in Campbell and Hornby.
