State Sen. Tom O’Mara has been re-appointed to the bipartisan Legislative Commission on Rural Resources, it was announced Wednesday, Feb. 13.
O’Mara, R-Big Flats, will spend a second consecutive two-year term on the commission, which consists of five senators and five assemblymen.
The commission is charged with examining the impact of rural communities and industries on the state economy, reviewing existing state laws and regulations impacting rural regions, assessing the effectiveness of state programs and services that affect the needs of rural areas, and developing recommendations for the Legislature to enhance and protect the state’s rural resources.
