Brian Leslie Benson departed this world peacefully in Houston, TX on November 11, 2012 surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with Melanoma.
Brian was born in Adelaide, Australia on May 30, 1941 to parents Phyllis Margie Para and John “Beans” Para. He was married to Barbara Ann McNamara for 42 wonderful years. He attended SMU in Dallas, TX and graduated with a Bachelor in Business. Brian worked for Shell Oil for 30+ years. Brian spent his married life in Dallas, TX; Midland, TX; New Orleans, La; Damascus, Syria; and for the past 25 years in the Houston, TX area. He loved to cook for friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his wife Barbra in 2008. Brian is survived by a loving family including his daughter Jennifer, son Scott, son Brian, wife Karen and three grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Brian’s will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 8 at 27 N. Sandpiper, La Marque TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Brian’s name to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
