In observance of National Salute to Veteran Patients Week, February 10-16, the Bath VA Medical Center (VAMC) is hosting a series of events for Veterans.
For the sixth straight year, the city of Corning, Corning-Painted Post Area School District, All Saints Academy and many other school and community groups are encouraging students to salute Veterans by making Valentine’s cards. The distribution of the cards will “kick-off” Salute Week at the Medical Center on Monday, February 11 at 10 am.
Throughout the week, area service organizations, schools and community groups will be visiting, hosting events and providing music. This includes the Hornell AMVETS, Steuben County American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, DAV Chapter 7, Prattsburgh High School and Haverling High School jazz bands, Wayland Aires singers, Order of the Eastern Star, Corning VFW and Hornell Elks Lodge.
The public is encouraged participate in the Salute Week events and/or visit Veterans at the Medical Center throughout the week. For further information, please contact VA Voluntary Services at 607-664-4771.
