CCC students ready hurricane relief effort

The Corning Community College (CCC) Student Association and the CCC Student Senate will be collecting donations to relieve victims of Hurricane Sandy who reside in Staten Island, NY. Donations will be accepted from Monday, November 12, 2012 through Monday, November 19, 2012.
Donation boxes will be set up on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 and Wednesday, November 14, 2012 during the Blood Drive in the Triangle Lounge, The Commons Building, Spencer Hill campus, Corning, NY. The donation boxes will then move to the Commons lobby, Commons Building, Spencer Hill campus, Corning, NY.
Needed are clothes, especially winter clothes, including coats, mittens or gloves, hats, and scarves. Also needed are non-perishable food items, bottled water, toiletries, infant/toddler care items such as diapers, gift cards, and cleaning supplies. Larger donations (furniture, etc.) may be dropped off on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 8 a.m. in Lot H parking lot at the Spencer Hill campus in Corning, NY.
Dave Coulombe, an owner/operator out of Addison, NY has donated a 56-foot box trailer, and Universal Trucking of Avoca, NY has donated a truck and driver to move the donations, which will be delivered during the week of Thanksgiving.
