The Arc of Steuben announced that Mark Failing and Corey Krisher have been named Instructors of the Month for February.
Failing and Krisher agreed to teach Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention training to the associates at the Geneva Street residence. In scheduling the two-day training, they were aware of the demands and priorities of the associates working in residences.
“It is so hard for my team to get time off the floor for an all-day training since we have so many individuals to serve from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.,” the nomination letter said. “Mark and Corey agreed to take time out of their busy schedule to hold this training after 2:30 p.m.”
Scheduling the training at a time when all the Geneva Street associates could take part also had the benefit of allowing the associates to discuss issues surrounding specific individuals, resulting in better teamwork and communication among associates.
