CCC seeks nominations for 2013 Alumni Awards and Red Barons Athletics Hall of Fame

Corning Community College’s Alumni Program is seeking nominations for the 2013 Alumni Awards, including the Distinguished Alumni Award, the Ann Marie Rossi Alumni-Employee Award, the Eileen Collins ’76 Professional Achievement Award, the One-to-Watch Award, the Parsons Community Service Award, and the Perry Education Professional Award. In addition to alumni nominations, the College is seeking nominations for the Red Barons Athletics Hall of Fame.
All award recipients will be recognized at the annual Reflections dinner event hosted by the CCC Development Foundation in the fall. Nominations should be submitted on the official nomination form no later than April 1, 2013.

Alumni Awards:
Distinguished Alumni Award
This award recognizes the lifetime achievements of a seasoned career professional that has made great strides in his/her career.

Ann Marie Rossi Alumni-Employee Award
Named for Ann Marie Rossi ‘76 (1947-2002), an alumna who taught at CCC until her passing, this award recognizes a CCC employee who is also a graduate and has exhibited an on-going commitment to the institution.

Eileen Collins ‘76
Professional
Achievement Award
Named for one of CCC’s most distinguished alumni, this award honors an alum that has excelled in his/her chosen field. Criteria include evidence of continued growth in one’s career.

One-to-Watch Award
This award recognizes a recent alum who is making great strides in his/her career.

Parsons Community Service Award
Named for the Frederick Parsons II, first Chairman of the CCC Board of Trustees, in honor of his commitment to community service through CCC, this award honors an alum that is an outstanding member of his/her community. Criteria include volunteerism and civic involvement.

Perry Education Professional Award
Named in honor of Dr. William Perry, first President of CCC, this award recognizes an alum that has chosen the field of education as a career and is considered an outstanding educator.

Athletics Hall of Fame:
The Red Barons Athletics Hall of Fame recognizes the role of intercollegiate Athletics at CCC, remembers traditions, and honors those who have made significant achievements or made a positive impact upon CCC athletics.
Members of the Athletics Hall of Fame include student athletes, coaches, and contributors. Former student athletes named to the Athletics Hall of Fame are those who maintained sound academic performance and demonstrated outstanding athletic accomplishments as a student at CCC. Examples of outstanding accomplishments include being awarded All-Conference, All-Region, or All-American status.
Coaches play a critical role in CCC Athletics. Those selected for induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame have made an outstanding contribution to both the College’s Athletics program and the student athletes who competed under their leadership. Coaches named to the Athletics Hall of Fame also have achieved major accomplishments such as coach of the year and championship titles.
CCC also recognizes College administrators and contributors who have made outstanding and exceptional contributions that support the growth, popularity, and/or community and campus acceptance of the intercollegiate Athletics program.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Student Athlete
- Participated in Athletics at CCC for at least one season
- Removed from participation at CCC for at least five (5) years
- Outstanding as evidenced by such accomplishments as an All-Conference, All-Region, or All-American selection in the sport(s) for which they are nominated in
- Exhibited acceptable standards of conduct during competitions, as a student on campus, and as a citizen in the community
- Minimum GPA of 2.0 while a student at CCC
- Graduation from CCC is preferred although not required. However, the athlete must have ended his/her community college athletic career at CCC
- Maximum of 3 (three) inductees each year

Coach
- Outstanding performance and contribution to the Athletics program and the athletes they coached/served as evidenced by such accomplishments as coach of the year, wins, championships, etc., while supporting the educational programs of the College and contributing to future success of the Institution and/or the athletes who compete under his/her leadership
- Maximum of 1 (one) inductee each year

Contributor
- Outstanding/special contribution to the support, growth, popularity, and/or community/campus acceptance of the intercollegiate Athletics program
- Maximum of 2 (two) inductees each year
