The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office has made two more arrests as part of its annual efforts to bust pot growers.
Charles T. Raynor, 65, of County Route 119 in the Town of Cameron, has been charged with growing the plant known as cannabis without a license, a misdemeanor under the state’s Public Health Law.
Acting on an anonymous tip filed on the sheriff ’s office website, deputies allegedly found 73 pot plants growing on Raynor’s property and in an indoor growing operation on Aug. 29.
Joseph A. Bouton, 40, of County Route 21 in the Town of Woodhull, has also been charged with growing the plant known as cannabis without a license. A search conducted Aug. 30 following an anonymous tip on the sheriff’s website allegedly found five large pot plants. Deputies say they’ve investigated numerous anonymous tips in recent weeks and found a large quantity of marijuana growing in various locations around the county.
