Derwood C. Gowin, Jr, (Bub) passed away after a tough battle with lung disease on March 11, 2013 in Canterbury, CT. He was born on April 10, 1948 in the Town Of Urbana, NY.
His parents, Juanita and Derwood are deceased as well as his sister, Joanne Cleland.
Bub enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Triumph motorcycle. He belonged to the New London Motorcycle Club for many years.
He leaves his wife, Karen (Kjar); their children, Keith & Pam Gowin of Plainfield, CT, Robin Gowin of Coral Springs, FL, Fred & Shauna Gowin of Columbia, CT, and Rhonda & Chuck Person of Plainfield, CT; his grandchildren, Casandra, Ryan, Deanna, Shannon, Brett, Bailey, Hailey, Travis, MacKenzie, Madison and Sophia; great granddaughter, Nakiyaha; his sisters, Shirley & Dorwin Skinner of Spring Hill, Fl., Caroline & Chuck Emmerling of Clayton, NY and Marge & John Weaver of Prattsburgh, NY; two special young adults, Andrew and Kelsey Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home, 490 Voluntown Road, Jewett City, CT has been entrusted with arrangements. Funereal services will be private. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
