At a recent luncheon meeting of the Bath Rotary Club twenty members of the Bath-Haverling Interact Club, sponsored by the local Rotary Club, were honored for their service to the community.
Interact, established in 1962, is a service club for youth ages 12 – 18 and one of Rotary International’s fastest growing programs. These student clubs benefit from the sponsorship by individual Rotary clubs which provide support and guidance. The organization has a membership of over 300,000 youth in more than 13,000 clubs worldwide; with clubs in over 135 countries and geographical areas Interact is truly an international phenomenon. Its global youth network provides an opportunity for young people to work together in a world fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding. The clubs are self-governing and self-supporting and can be either school or communitty based.
The Bath-Haverling Interact Club is led by Amelia Flint, President; Danielle Neu, Vice-President; Ariana Manikas, Secretary-Treasurer; Ms. Cari Scott, Faculty Advisor. Mrs. Becky Stranges and Mr. Dave Stewart, Bath Rotarians, serve as Co-Advisors to the club.
The Bath-Haverling Central School, the Bath Rotary Club, the community of Bath, and their families can be most proud of these fine young men and women who display the Rotary International motto of “Service Above Self”.
