The Steuben County Task Force for the Prevention of Child Abuse has announced it is accepting nominations for the 2013 Child Abuse Prevention Award, presented in April as part of activities to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Nominations for at the annual recognition are sought from human service agencies, as well as from community individuals and organizations. A recipient is selected by the Task Force and recognized at the April meeting of the Steuben County Legislature.
The deadline for submitting nominations is March 31, 2013. Any individual or organization is invited to submit a nomination, which is available by contacting the Steuben County Youth Bureau at 664-2119 or online at www.steubencony.org and selecting the Youth Bureau from the Departments and Services tab.
The recognition will cap off a month of special activities to raise awareness and prevent child abuse in Steuben County. The task force is again teaming with students, schools and organizations across the county to make and distribute hundreds of colorful pinwheels as part of a Pinwheels and Promises Campaign, and interested organizations are invited to participate.
