Richard N. Machuga, 74, passed away unexpectedly at his home with his loving life partner of 30 years, Thelma Buckle on July 4th.
Richard N. Machuga, 74, passed away unexpectedly at his home with his loving life partner of 30 years, Thelma Buckle on July 4th. Born in Bradford, N.Y. on Feb. 21, 1943, Rich was the son of Clara Poklinkowski Pratt and Andrew Machuga, (both predeceased, as well as brother, John Machuga) Survivors include sons, Rick (Shelley) and Marc Machuga, daughter Tricia DeCerbo (Ken Leath), grandchildren Jourdan, Andrew and Blake Machuga, Maria and Nicholas DeCerbo, Thelma’s children, David Loveland, Cheryl Muller, Linda Barnes and Bryan Buckle and her several grandchildren; brothers Ed (Maryann) and David (Nancy) Machuga, several nieces and nephews.
Rich cooked for the Bradford Boy Scout chicken barbeques for many years, and he enjoyed driving his antique John Deere tractors in the Steuben County Dairy Festival parades. You could always find him gardening and harvesting, especially the gallons of dill pickles and homemade wine. His annual Father’s Day picnics were always enjoyed by family and friends. Richard was a lifetime member of the Bath Elks Club.
Calling hours were Friday, July 7, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Fagan’s Funeral Home, 31 W. Morris St., Bath, NY. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 8th starting with an Elks Service at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
