Antoinette Savino, 83, of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, (formerly from Bath, NY) passed away on September 4, 2017 at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA.

A small family service was held September 15th at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona del Mar, California.

Antoinette is survived by her two sons, John (Cristine) and Mark Savino; brother Joe (Marilyn) Merola of Painted Post, NY; Grandchildren Jonathan, Shannon and Matthew Savino, Kylee Isbell; Great-grandchild Brock Savino; and her nieces and nephews.

Antoinette is predeceased by her parents Marco and Mary Merola and her husband Tony Savino.

Antoinette was born in Futani, Italy on September 14th, 1933. Antoinette came through Ellis Island to live in Corning, New York.  She was working at Corning Glass when she met her husband Tony Savino.  They married in May 1960 and eventually moved to Bath, NY where they ran Flowers by Tony on Liberty Street.

Antoinette moved to California to be closer to family in April 2016.  John and Mark were able to spend more time with Antoinette over the last one and a half years.  Antoinette enjoyed the year round sunshine and especially the times when she was with her family. She will be remembered for her smile, bold personality and wonderful Italian cooking.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to flood victims at The Red Cross.  The Savino family experienced the Agnes flood of 1972 and would appreciate supporting others who are currently dealing with similar natural disasters.

Antoinette loved looking at the trees while in California.  To honor her, you can choose to donate to Trees for a Change.
