Larry J. Berg, age 72, passed away suddenly November 6 at home after a 4 year battle with lung cancer.

Ocala, FL – Larry J. Berg, age 72, passed away suddenly November 6 at home after a 4 year battle with lung cancer.  Larry was born in Bath, N.Y. on March 15, 1945.  Predeceased by his parents, Frank Berg and Viola Jenkins Berg Milroy, step-father Dan Milroy, brothers Bill Berg, Joe Berg, and Richard Berg, sister Rose Berg, son Mike Berg, and Grandson Alec “AJ” Berg. 

Survived by his wife Barbara Berg; his children, Jeremy Berg (Kim) of Hornell NY, Tracey Parker (Casey) of Hornell NY, Bonnie Bouton (Burk) of Hilton NY, Brenda Koepke (Dave Smith) of Orlando, FL, and Brian Koepke (Stephanie) of Cedar Park, TX; grandchildren, Tyler Berg, Dan Chapman, Nick Chapman, Brooklyn Chapman, Brandi Borsching, Daniel Borsching, Amanda Borsching, Brian David Smith, and Hensley Koepke; brothers George Berg, Scotia, NY, Chuck Berg of Bath, NY, Ray Berg of DeKalb, IL; sister Kay Berg of DeKalb, IL; several nieces and nephews and many friends. 

Larry retired as a painter from the Bath, NY VA Medical Center in March of 2000 after 22 years of dedicated service.  He was a Vietnam Army veteran and a lifetime member of the Bath VFW and the Hammondsport American Legion.  He was a Bath, NY resident until moving to Ocala, FL in 2003.  He did all kinds of odd jobs for family and friends and was loved by all who knew him.

There will be a memorial service at the Villas of Spanish Oaks social hall in Ocala, FL at 3 pm on Sunday, Nov. 12 and a memorial service at the Bath, NY VA with military honors at a later date.
