Ivan was born on September 17, 1935 in the Town of Wheeler to his parents Beulah and Earl Cranmer.

Ivan was born on September 17, 1935 in the Town of Wheeler to his parents Beulah and Earl Cranmer. He graduated from Haverling Central High School in 1953 and joined the United States Army in 1956. Ivan was stationed at Fort Bragg and Fort Campbell during his service. After his years of service, Ivan returned to work at Babcock Ladder where he was employed as a shipping clerk for 36 years. In later years Ivan worked for Campbell Building Company, Fuji Film delivery, and Courier Service.

Ivan lived life to the fullest!  Ivan was a kind and loving husband, father, father in law, step-father, grandfather, brother and friend. Ivan was a man of great integrity. An avid hunter and outdoorsman. Ivan was deeply involved in sports, being a semi-pro baseball player in Naples, NY, he was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. Ivan coached his Sons in little league and enjoyed spending weekends playing softball. Ivan was a dedicated basketball referee and interpreter for the Steuben County IAABO Board 156 for 44 years. He loved Keuka lake and spending time with his family at his cottage “This Is It.”

Ivan was active in many organizations including Bath Rod & Gun Club, American Legion, Elks Club, VFW and the Hammondsport United Methodist Church. He won many awards including induction into the Section V Basketball Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Haverling Rams Sports Wall of Fame 2009. Ivan was an IAABO Lifetime Member and Section V and NYSPHSAA Championship Board President and had the honor of being a referee at the 1992 NYS Championship basketball games. 

Ivan is survived by his companion and wife of 33 years, Flora Haff-Cranmer, his beloved Sons Curtis (Susan) Cranmer, Martin (Lynn) Cranmer, Christopher (Candace) Cranmer, Paul (Christina) Watson, Matthew (Danielle) Watson, Scott (Tina) Watson. His grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, Andrew, Allison, Clay, Ashlee, Carter, Parker, Cooper, Caitlyn, Gregory and Zachary.

Also survived by his first wife Mona Sherwood, sister Wanda Lewis, sister in laws Joyce Cranmer, Diane (Doug) Rivers, brother in laws Henry (Rosa) Haff, Gary (Mary Ellen) Haff. He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, brothers Norman, Sylvester, Homer and nephew Gary Bauter.

Calling hours were held at LaMarche Funeral Home in Hammondsport, NY from 4-7PM on Thursday, October 4th 2018 with additional calling hours held at Hammondsport United Methodist Church on Friday, October 5th 2018 from 12-1PM. A Celebration of Life immediately followed. Ivan was buried in a private service at the Pleasant Valley cemetery following services at the church.
