Frederick E. Kendall, age 75, of Bath, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 at Corning Hospital. Frederick was born Sept. 8, 1934 in Akron, NY. He is the son of the late Ellsworth E. and Minetha U. (Anderson) Kendall. He married Ruth McKelvie on Aug. 17, 1957.
He was a vocal music teacher at Bath Haverling Central School for 29 years and was an NYSSMA adjudicator. Frederick was an active member of the Gideons, and Southern Tier Chorus. He was a Buffalo Bills fan ... if they were winning. Above all else, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Frederick is survived by his wife, Ruth (McKelvie) Kendall; daughter, Kristen Kendall of Canisteo; son, Daren Kendall of Ithaca; sister, Carol (Elton) Balcom of Wilsal, MT; grandchildren, Angie Moreno and Dylan Kendall; sister-in-law, Lois (Edward) Malone of Penn Yan; and nieces and nephews, Jeff (Tera) Balcom, Tracy (Darin Crabtree) Balcom, Seth (Kirsta) Malone, Beth Jensen and Erin Malone.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Frederick was held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3 at the Victory Highway Wesleyan Church, 150 Victory Highway, Painted Post, NY 14870, with the Rev. Howard Armstrong and the Rev. Ted Roloson officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Frederick’s name to Gideons International, P.O. Box 441, Bath, NY
