Marjorie A. Manktelow, of Bath, NY went to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 22, 2010.
Marjorie was born in Cohocton, NY on March 8 1926, daughter of Ernestine (Neu) and Otto Sick. She graduated from Cohocton Central School and Rochester Business Institute. She was employed at Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Company.
Marjorie married Edwin W. Manktelow on June 19, 1948. Marjorie devoted herself to her family, church, and friends. She was a housewife, mother and foster mother. She was a tireless volunteer, working with Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She and her friends enjoyed an active prayer ministry. Marjorie’s particular joy was working with the youth and teens in Christian education and youth groups, where she won many souls for the Lord.
Marjorie is survived by son, Donald W. (Pam) Manktelow of Hornell; daughter, Janine (Tom) Colasurdo of Chesapeake, VA; daughter-in-law, Loretta (Robbins) Manktelow of Virginia; brother, Victor (Barb) Sick of Cohocton; and foster brother, Richard Turner of Painted Post.
She will be greatly missed by grandchildren; Melissa (Jason) Welch of Hornell, Peter Manktelow (fiancé Alicia Rokenbrod) of Brockport and Rachel, Julia and Hannah Colasurdo of Chesapeake, VA. She was a loving great grandmother to Charles and Vincent Hann and Colin and Erica Welch of Hornell. Marjorie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was predeceased by husband, Edwin; son, Gerald Manktelow; brother, Robert Sick; sister-in-law, Eleanor Sick; and foster sister, Ella Mae Sabina.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 27 at Fagan’s Funeral Home in Bath. Burial was in Bath National Cemetery.
