Donald H. Stone, 73, formerly of Hammondsport passed away Sunday, Aug. 1 at the Bath VAMC. He was born Aug. 19, 1936 in Avoca the son of Preston and Edna Love Stone.
Don was a Army Veteran serving from 1959-1961, he was a member of the Hammondsport American Legion and the Bath VFW, he had been employed at Gold Seal Winery and at Mercury Aircraft.
Surviving are his brothers, Theron (Mary Stone and Fenton (Joan) Stone both of Hammondsport; his sister, Mildred Gavette of Canadaiqua; and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his parents; brothers, Mansel and Wendall; and sisters, Janet Dolliver and Lillian Sullivan.
Friends called from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 at the LaMarche Funeral Home in Hammondsport where funeral and committal services were held at 1 p.m. Rev. Paul J. Rowley officiated and interment will be in Thomas Cemetery in Pulteney.
