Leslie W. Putman age 76, of Route 333 in Campbell, NY died Saturday, Aug. 7 at Highlands Care Center in Laporte, PA.
Les was born in Bath on Oct. 2, 1933, to Erwin and Ethel (Divens) Putman. He served his country in Korea in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He was a graduate of Campbell Central School and had been a pattern maker for Dresser Rand. Les married Catherine in Campbell on Nov. 10, 1996. He was a member of Campbell United Methodist Church. Les loved woodworking, traveling, bus trips, and working around his house and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; daughter, Pamela (Jerry) McConnell of Addison; son, Gary (Claudia) Putman of Campbell; brother, Harold (Iva) Putman of Campbell; granddaughters, Lindsay and Stephanie McConnell, Alyssa and Cara Putman; step son, Edward (Kathy) Spear of Campbell; step daughter, Shirley Anderson of Campbell; four step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Les was predeceased by his brother, Erwin Putman.
Calling hours were held from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13 at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney Street in Corning where funeral services followed at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Nondaga Cemetery in Bath with full military honors.
