Morris F. “Skip” Wenban, 69 years of West First Street, Corning, NY, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at his home.
Born February 25, 1943 in Corning, NY, he was the son of the late Gail M. and the late Gladys M. (Johnson) Wenban. Skip was a former employee of the town of Urbana, Bogardus Well Drillers and he also worked as an independent contractor for a number of years. Skip was loved by many and will be truly missed.
He is survived by two daughters, Leslie (William Wilson) Viglione of Campbell, NY and Robin (Tracy) Atkin of CA; two sons, Steven (Kelly) Wenban of Syracuse, NY and Gerald (Bethany) Hunt of Pittsburgh, PA; brother, Gail M. "Kip" (Gail Andrews) Wenban of Bath, NY; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Skip was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen Hunt in 2004.
It was Skip’s wishes to have no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 12 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Coopers Plains Cemetery, Painted Post, NY. Carpenter’s Funeral Home, LLC, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning have been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be given in Skip’s name to the: American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, NY 13790 or to CareFirst, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830.
