Stewart Moshier, 78, of the Pinecrest Home For Adults in Avoca, passed away on Sunday, July 18 at the Bath VA Nursing Facility.
He served with the U.S. Army from 1952-1954.
Stewart is predeceased by his wife of 34 years, Gladys, who passed away in September 2009.
Known by all as a very kind and gentle man, Stewart is survived by his stepchildren, Rev. Edward "Ike" Porter (Joy) of Mattawan, MI, Michael Porter (Vickie) of Orange, TX, Patricia Suire (Brud) of Orange, TX and Jacklyn House (Richard) of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Seth, Sean & Michael Porter, Jack & Ronnie White, Dean & Glen House, Alana Crowe, Theresa Leonard and Rachel Caluza; great grandchildren; special niece, Debra Zansitis; and several nieces and nephews.
It was Stewart's wish that there be no calling hours. Family and friends were invited to attend the funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, July 23 at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main Street, Avoca. Burial will be at the Bath VA National Cemetery.
