James K. Barker Jr., of Cameron Mills, NY, age 69, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 18 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
James was born April 2, 1941, in the town of Bath, NY, to James K. and Elizabeth Koon Barker Sr. James was active in many clubs and organizations, he was a lifetime member of The Savona Rod and Gun Club, as well as the Cameron Mills Volunteer Fire Department. James was also a member of the Penn Yan Moose Club, and an avid outdoorsman. He retired from Polly-O after many years of service.
Surviving James are his wife, Veda Bulkley Barker; five children, Joanne (Edward) Davis, James III (Shelley) Barker, Jack Sr. (Joan) Barker, Julie (James) Mitchell and Jill (Bernie) Barker; sister, Betty Decker; brother-in-law, Richard Loucks; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Scooby.
He was predeceased by his two sisters, Nora and Inez; and one brother, Richard.
Friends were invited to call from 1-3 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20 at Fagan's Funeral Home, 31 W. Morris Street, Bath. A Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 with Rev. Scott Green officiating. Committal followed at the Townline Cemetery, Cameron, NY. Memorials in James name may be directed to the Southern Tier Hospice, Cameron Mills Volunteer Fire Department, or The Kidney Dialysis program in Hornell, NY.
