Darrell Bohdan Hercyk, formally of Bath, NY passed away Sunday, Aug. 15. He was born Oct. 22, 1959 in Bath, NY to Bohdan and Beverly Hercyk. He married his sweetheart Julie Topham on March 7, 1998 in Salt Lake City, UT. They were sealed a year later in the St. George, UT Temple.
Darrell was a graduate of Haverling Central School in 1978 where he excelled in music, soccer, and track and field. He still holds several records and was inducted into the Haverling Hall of Fame in 2008.
Darrell was a very caring wonderful father to his daughter, Jessie. He loved taking his girls camping and hiking. He was an exceptional builder decorator and landscape artist. Darrell was also a talented artist whose artwork was featured in several shows. Darrell was an employee of Sky West Airlines as a systems analyst.
He is survived by his wife, Julie of St. George, UT; daughter, Jessie also of St. George, UT; parents, Bohdan and Beverly Hercyk of Bath, NY; and brothers, Jeff (Fiancee, Corinna) Hercyk of Bath, NY and Darren (Lori) Hercyk of Khartoum, Sudan. Darrell will be greatly missed by his many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Memorial calling hours will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 at the Bond-Davis Funeral Home of Bath, 107 East Steuben Street, with his Memorial Service being held at the conclusion of calling at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will also be held Monday, Aug. 23 in Santa Clara, UT.
Memorial donations maybe made in Darrell's name to a charity of the donors choice.
